Our company is currently in need of an experienced Truck Driver to join our team. The successful candidate must also have a commercial driver's license WITH manual experience required. They are required to follow strict safety, time management and route efficiency guidelines. Individuals with a flexible schedule are encouraged to apply, as position is on call weekdays for local work ONLY, no overnights required, reporting to our BC Dispatcher.

This position is ideally suited to mature individuals who are looking towards retirement or semi retirement. Physical fitness is still very important, as we will be training this person to operate a tag (tow behind) truck. Priority will be given to a driver that has previous drive-away experience and is proficient in towing and manual transmission on class 3 units.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the vehicle is secure and protected from weather, such as rain.
  • Maintain electronic log book
  • Drive vehicle down the highway safely.
  • Use the correct lane.
  • Safely use turn signals.
  • Follow local speed limits.
  • Follow all appropriate commercial restrictions by Province.

Position Summary:

Ironhorse Truck Transfer Corp is looking for a Driver to transport freight in a safe and timely manner. This position will also be responsible for loading and unloading of trucks and assisting drivers in loading and unloading trucks as needed.

Essential Duties:

  • Load and unload trucks safely and quickly using hand, power, or hand truck tools.
  • Safely operate a forklift to load or unload trailers.
  • Ensure the correct materials are transported in the delivery process.
  • Safely operate a truck that holds at least two tons.
  • Perform daily inspection of equipment to ensure it is in good working order. Report any mechanical or electrical problems to the dispatcher or supervisor.
  • Complete all paperwork necessary for delivery of materials.
  • Complete all paperwork necessary for pickup of materials.
  • Complete all paperwork necessary for receipt of materials.

Experience: Minimum of one year experience driving a truck Required. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Preferred: Certified Drivers License Required. Must have Class A CDL or have equivalent endorsement Preferred. Must be able to pass DOT drug screen, DOT background check and DOT physical exam
