Duties and Responsibilities:

Salary/Wages:$26/hour

Employment Term: Full-Time Permanent, 40-60 Hours a week

  • Must be able to / willing to travel to and from the USA
  • Willing to drive 2-5 days away from home each trip
  • Work Location Information: Various locations for pickup and or to drop-off the goods and material
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma
  • Language: English, Basic knowledge of the English language is sufficient
  • Credentials: Class 1 or A is required, Air Brake Adjustment Certificate is required
  • Experience: Experience is an asset
  • Type of Trucking: Dry van / Refrigerated tractor-trailer
  • Area of Service: BC, Canada to California, USA(Occasionally, other states in the USA)
  • Security & Safety: Criminal record check, medical exam, and drug test required
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities Physical Demanding, Sitting for an extended period
  • Weight Handling: Up to 45 Kg (100 lbs)
  • Primary duties of a Long-Haul Truck Driver are, but not limited to: Operate and drive trucks (Dry van / Refrigerated tractor-trailer) to transport goods and materials, Plan trip logistics and obtain required documentation to transport goods, Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspection of vehicle systems, equipment, and accessories such as tires, lights, and turn signals, brakes, and cold storage, Ensure cargo is adequately secured following safety requirements and follow safety procedures. Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes, Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption. Administer bills of lading and manually or electronically maintain logbooks. Communicate with the dispatcher, other drivers, and customers using communication devices and onboard computers, hands-free cell phone
  • Drive as part of a two-person team
