Job Title: Heavy Equipment Mechanic

We are seeking to hire Heavy Equipment Mechanics to help us staff our night and weekend shifts.  We operate a busy commercial truck repair facility, operating 24 hours per day Monday through Friday, and regular daytime hours during the weekend.  You will be required to work a combination of either 2 weekday night and 2 weekend day shifts or 4 weekday night shifts per week.

Night shifts are: 7:00pm – 5:00am
Weekend shifts are: 7:00am – 5:00pm

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Perform regular maintenance and inspections on truck-mounted cranes and vacuum truck systems to ensure they are in safe working condition.
2. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on truck-mounted cranes and vacuum truck systems, and repair or replace damaged parts as necessary.
3. As required, modify components and structures on truck-mounted cranes and vacuum truck systems
4. Document all work performed and maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and parts inventory in computerized systems
5. Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and manufacturer guidelines.
6. Assist with the installation of new equipment on truck-mounted cranes and Hydro Vac trucks
7. Coordinate with other mechanics, technicians, and service personnel to complete repairs and maintenance tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
8. Train and mentor less experienced mechanics and technicians, and provide guidance on proper maintenance and repair techniques.

Wage/Salary:$41.00/hour

Benefits: Full Extended Medical and Health Benefits after 90 days employment, including Life Insurance, Dental, AD&D Insurance, $0.25/hour tool allowance; $100/year Boot Allowance; Paid Overtime Available

Hours Per Week: 40 Hours Per Week

Skills Requirements

Education: No Minimum Education Requirements (if possessing equivalent experience); Applicable Trade Diploma and Red Seal Certification Desirable

Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years of verifiable work experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, including demonstrated periods of work history repairing cranes and hydraulic systems

Skills Requirements: Must be able to use a computer, navigate computerized systems and type using a keyboard; Must be able to lift up to 45kg
