We are seeking to hire experienced Commercial Truck and Transport Mechanics to help us staff our night and weekend shifts. We operate a busy commercial truck repair facility, operating 24 hours per day, Monday through Friday, and regular daytime hours during the weekend. You will be required to work a combination of either 2 weekday night and 2 weekend day shifts or 4 weekday night shifts per week.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems including chassis, frame, cab, body, engine and drive train, air brakes, steering, and fuel, hydraulic, electrical, air-conditioning and electronic systems
- Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of truck-trailer systems including structural, brake and electrical systems
- Utilize computerized diagnostic and other testing devices to identify and diagnose faults or malfunctions
- Review and discuss work orders with supervisors, and signing off on repairs performed
- Perform scheduled maintenance service, such as oil changes, lubrications and tune ups
- Complete reports to record problems and work performed
- Operate mobile service vehicles to perform on-site diagnostics and repairs at customer locations
Wage/Salary: $37.00/hour

Skills Requirements
Education: No Minimum Education Requirement; Applicable Trade Diploma and Red Seal Certification Desirable
Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years of verifiable work experience as a Commercial Truck and Transport Mechanic
Skills/Licensing:
- Demonstrated knowledge and verifiable proficiency working with modern diesel engine systems, including but not limited to Detroit Diesel (DD15), Cummins ISX and Volvo D13 Engines
- Verifiable work experience performing diagnostics, repairs and maintenance on automatic transmissions, particularly Volvo I-Shift and Eaton UltraShift systems, or similar.
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose and repair emissions control systems, including Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) and Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) systems, in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Demonstrable proficiency with commercial vehicle diagnostic software and tools, or equivalent OEM or multi-platform diagnostic systems
- Demonstrable knowledge of air brake systems, including inspection, adjustment, and repair in compliance with applicable federal and provincial regulations
- Demonstrable proficiency in reading and interpreting technical service manuals, wiring diagrams, hydraulic schematics, and manufacturer specifications.
- Demonstrable experience using computer systems and software for service documentation, work order management, and electronic reporting
- Must be physically capable of lifting up to 45 kg (99 lbs)
- Must hold a valid unrestricted driver’s license for the operation of the mobile service truck
Additional Requirements:
- Candidates will be required to complete a technical assessment as part of the screening and selection process.
- Ability to read and interpret repair manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation in English.
