Duties and Responsibilities:

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time, Shift, Weekend, Day, Night

Anticipated Start Date: ongoing

Location: Calgary AB or Edmonton AB, Surrey BC

Skill Requirements: Credentials: Valid Class 1 or A driver's license, Air Brake endorsement

Languages: Speak English, Write English

Type of Trucking and Equipment: Tractor-trailer Van, Long Haul, International

Documentation Knowledge: Driver log books, Bill of lading, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip) Transborder documentation, Maintenance and repair reports, Accident or incident reports.

Communication Equipment Experience: Cellular phone

Weight handling: Up to 23 kgs (50lbs)

Specific Skills: Operate and drive articulated trucks to transport goods and materials. Loading and unloading of goods. Plan travel schedules and routes, Use atlases and other trip planning aids, Receive and relay information to central dispatcher, Drive as part of two-person or convoy, Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment. Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness

Additional Skills: Professionalism in Customer Service

Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Abstract, Drug Screen

Transportation/Travel information: Willing to cross-border. Willing to travel for extended periods, Willing to travel overnight, Valid driver's license, Willing to drive team must be willing to live with in 2 hours of Edmonton or Calgary or Surrey BC
