Duties and Responsibilities:

• Monitoring the operation of vehicles to ensure safe driving practices are used at all times
• Maintaining accurate records of fuel usage, vehicle maintenance schedules, and cargo loads
• Operating large vehicle (tractor-trailer) for extended periods in varied road, weather and traffic conditions
• Inspecting and maintaining vehicles pre-trip, on route and post trip to ensure they are safe for operation on the road
• Maintaining knowledge of federal and provincial regulations regarding shipping and transportation procedures
• Responsible for independently operating a tractor-trailer in a safe and efficient manner; obeying all federal, provincial and departmental transportation and traffic rules and regulations; and adhering to the designated routes and delivery schedules
• Following set schedules for deliveries between locations, including overnight stays until deliveries can be made the following day
• Completing paperwork, permits related to shipping transactions, including bills of lading, route-tracking logs, and delivery contracts
• Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers regarding the loading, delivery details, delays, and problems with the delivery
• Maintain security of vehicle and cargo, and ensure that cargo is delivered in good condition and in a timely manner
• Maintains daily logs, trip reports and vehicle inspection reports
• Maintains and cleans the Tractor

• No minimum experience required
• No winter/mountain driving experience required
• Passport or US Visa NOT required
• Position is NOT subject to US DOT drug testing
• FAST card NOT required for the job
• Company has NO passenger policy
